5th Annual Northwest Colorado Women's Small Business Conference

October 10, 2014 | 7:30 am-6 pm
Copper Mountain, Colorado

Join the Colorado SBDC Network for the 5th Annual Northwest Colorado Women's Small Business Conference at Copper Mountain on Friday, October 10! This event sells out every year - don't wait to buy your tickets! Join other like-minded female entrepreneurs for an exciting, interactive day packed with hands-on business training seminars, free one-on-one consulting, exhibitor tables featuring area resources, plenty of networking opportunities, and more! Leave the conference feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, with plenty of action items, connections and inspiration to take your business to the next level of success!

This year's conference will feature keynote speaker Sylvia Theisen of She Takes the Lead! Theisen spent the first 13 years of her career in a psychotherapist's office. No, not on the couch (although she's done plenty of that), but running a successful practice counseling employees of Fortune 500 companies. With a masters degree in clinical social work (M.S.W) from the University of Denver, Theisen provided therapy services through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to companies including Caterpillar, McDonnell Douglas and US Sprint from 1986-1995. As she listened to these women share their stories of heartache and loss, she developed strategies to help them bounce back, reduce their stress and show up as the best version of themselves, both at home and in their business.

Wanting a bit of a shake-up in her own life, Sylvia plunged into the ultra-competitive business of real estate. What followed was a crash course in sales and whip-smart negotiation. During her 15 year career, she has closed more than $100 million in sales, received five star ratings every year for excellence in negotiating and customer satisfaction, she earned the ranks of the top women in the business.

Today, Sylvia is the founder of She Takes The Lead™, and provides keynote speeches, training and coaching to women and women-focused businesses. Her talks combine her natural empathy and business savvy with a generous dose of humor, as well as her innate ability to take personal development topics and naturally weave them into the fabric of a conference, providing a lively and interesting alternative to industry specific presentations. She keeps her audiences engaged and gives them a straight forward action plan they’ll actually implement and get results.
