Carrie Sheffield is behind the magic of Blooming Girls. She moved to Fort Collins over two years ago and created Blooming Girls as an after school enrichment program for girls. Carrie’s program stems from her background in teaching, along with her passion to provide a safe environment for girls to grow. The means are simple: role playing, nature study, cooking, art projects, field trips, community service and sharing circles. The end result is profound. The girls build self-confidence, forge deep friendships, a and develop a respect for themselves and the world they live in.

Blooming Girls was established in the spring of 2008 by Carrie Sheffield in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is currently in its 6th session and has served over 27 girls with five of them returning for a second, third, fourth and even fifth time.

"The Larimer SBDC really helped me gain the confidence to see the potential their was with Blooming Girls. It helped me with choosing the name and gave me great advice for advertising and marketing."
