Terry Keenan and his wife, Heidi Broderson, are passionate about flight simulation and have extensive experience to go with that passion. Terry has more than 20 years experience working on many types of simulators dating back to the 1960s. Heidi has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and a master’s degree in electrical engineering. Both worked with flight simulators at the United Airlines Flight Training Center.
Keenan Simulation aspires to be leaders in flight simulation technology. They are not only a leader, but also highly competitive in their industry. Terry and Heidi boast that they are able to complete jobs in half the time, and for half the cost, as their competitors. Keenan Simulation has recently added 3D modeling capabilities and is beginning to branch out beyond flight simulation to areas like the medical field where simulators are used to test pilots after laser eye surgery. They also offer maintenance on their products to keep simulators running smoothly. Soon, they hope to add more educational training, medical applications and a helicopter simulator.
After Heidi went through the NxLeveL course, she encouraged Terry to also take it. He said it was helpful to spend dedicated time working on a business plan.
“It was really helpful. Neither of us is from a business background, so this was just what we needed. The speakers shared such practical information and books will be a lifetime resource for questions regarding running our small business. It was really effective for us.”<
Presented by the Colorado Leading Edge, the NxLeveL Entrepreneurial Training Program is a 12 – 15 week course designed for entrepreneurs who are seeking both knowledge and skills to start their businesses. Both facilitators and participants rave about the course and its ability to help entrepreneurs get their new venture off the ground successfully.
“It was a pleasure having Terry in the course this spring. We often get business partners, or married couple, in the same class; but Heidi and Terry took the course separately. It seemed to be a perfect plan for them. Terry worked diligently on his business plan and was well deserving of a cash prize from Colorado Business Bank, our NxLeveL Corporate Sponsor,” said Marcia McGilley, South Metro Denver SBDC Director.
