With completion expected in the spring/summer of 2016, Power To Play Sports brings the first-ever Events Center of its kind for youth basketball in northern Colorado. As the premier youth organization in the Rocky Mountain region with an established clientele reaching national participation, the venture brings northern Colorado to the forefront of family-destination. Established as a full-time corporation in 2008, PTPS has quickly raised the quality of youth basketball leagues, tournaments and developmental instruction throughout the region. The 52,000 square foot Events center features 6 basketball/volleyball courts, concessions, a team store, indoor lounge and cafeteria, including a beautiful outdoor patio sitting on a lake, and cascade mountain views. With an established clientele of 2500+ teams a year, the year-round programs have become the premier in the Rocky Mountain region. With the additional training academy, and practice rental venue, PTPS offers an exclusive brand of excellence for the basketball/sports enthusiast of all ages. The SBDC has assisted in guidance for the project since the idea of the new Events Center was presented. According to Michael Peterson, President of PTPS, the “SBDC has offered assistance with this project with insight, advice on target market research, as well as obtaining financing… all of which has allowed us to continue our creative vision for the region.” “Cutting corners isn’t an option. We don’t settle for just being good. We demand a level of commitment that sometimes takes people out of their comfort zones. Every decision is based on what’s best for kids, families, officials and the people walking through the doors at our events. That will never change, and ultimately, our ownership, and staff believe people want quality and a safe environment for their children.” Co-Owner, Eric Greene of Windsor sums up the project stating, “When you see the impact it makes on this region bringing nearly 15,000 new families to northern Colorado every year, and seeing new hopes and dreams for our youth, it’s a pretty special thing!”
